Confessions...

Heidi admitted in our last blog that she had an addiction with Math. Now it is time to confess. If you look at our last post, you will see Heidi and I in a hot tub. If you look at this next photo...

you may see how it doesn't resemble this picture...

of where we stayed.

For some of you family members, (Karen, Mom and Dad) you may remember this little place called Gleneden Beach...
You may remember a different pool of water without prior changing of the swimwear.

This is the same place Heidi persuaded Karen and I to get in the hot tub with our clothes on. To which Mom and Dad came by and conned mom into getting in as well!

We decided to re-liv the memory and attempt it again, this time however, we didn't even have a room there!

It was great fun!

We love the beach!

Even if it is a little chilly and windy!

Addictions...

If the title didn't grab your attention, I don't know what else will! (at least, in the land of T&H's blog)...with all the hype about these new addictions, whether it be "food addictions", "friend addictions", "Artichoke addictions"...okay, I made the last one up, but all of this pop psych about addictive behavior, etc. has made me realize, I HAVE AN ADDICTION. It's keeping me awake at night, and when I actually do fall asleep, I have dreams about it. Them. A lot of them. Sometimes, they're good dreams, and other times...well, they're scary. They're called Quadratic Equations, and weird substitutions, and solving for X and Q, and variables I've never even seen together. In all seriousness, I have a love-hate relationship with math. When things are making sense, I'm feeling well, like I actually might understand a thing or two....and, well, when things aren't going well, and my brain is not making that connection to the math book...things could be better. All in all though, I don't think I will ever stop taking a math class. I love it. I'm enjoying the learning process, and the solving, and everything in between. It's fantastic. Sometimes, (really late at night), Tim gives me the evil eye....like, "you'd better put that math book down before I"...type look. However, to say he's not encouraging, supportive, and a wonderful advocate for my learning would be a lie. Not to mention his patience, while I at times succumb to the temptation of opening up my math book...just one more time before I crawl into bed. Moving on...
Tim and I had a fabulous vacation, celebrating his b-day, and spending time together at our favorite place--the Pacific Ocean! Here are some pics to enjoy from our trip. Tim and I enjoyed some shopping at the Lincoln City Outlet mall, where I found a pair of hip sunglasses at Aeropostale (sp?) for $1.80, and Tim found like 15 shirts at The Gap for $1.97 a piece. Our dear friends, Joel and Lani watched over our babies, and took super great care of my veggie garden. Speaking of which, my veggies are growing strong! Can't wait for when they start producing! I have some significant job changes in my future, which I will share in a later blog. All good, praise God! This weekend we are looking forward to watching the triplet girls again...rememer our last stay with them in November? They were 11 weeks at that time, and now they are 8 months. Check out the Mckenney blog, on our side bar for some really cute pics of them. TIm and I are excited for our baby fix, and to help out some dear friends. Adios for now! -H

Happy Birthday, Husby!

Yes, it's my wonderful Husby's birthday, on Sunday! We are heading out to the beach in a few minutes, but I wanted the world to know how special Tim is to me. Tim is....

My best friend
My soul mate
Someone I can trust with anything...anything.
Compassionate...and Passionate
Emotional! He says things that can make me cry, in a good way. (and that's hard to do!)
A GREAT listener...(I talk a lot!!)
Heartfelt, and Empathetic
A hard worker
Optismistic
A man of his word
A true Maximizer, and highly efficient
Flexible
Relaxing, and so fun to be around
Silly
A lover of God...and our cats! (even at 2am)
A pursuer of "What is Truth?"

I could go on and on...Tim, I love you, and am so excited for our special weekend together!! Happy Birthday, love!

Kittens, "Shine" and more late nights.

Well, a while back we posted that " your vote would count". We were considering adopting YET ANOTHER cat. If you read Lani's blog (linked on the sidebar) you can see hedr recent posting on Wendy and her siblings.

I met Wendy in the church office a few weeks ago and Heidi happened to have an afternoon break, so she stopped by to say Hi. We were considering it for a few days til we realized the busy schedules we are operating off of. We both have 2 jobs and are taking a class at Mt Hood. Time is not a comodity we have much of in this stage of life. Some days, We feel just like that first photo. Ready to sleep about anywhere. Things will change though, we are planning to be gone this weekend to Lincoln City for my birthday. It will be a great trip!

I have applied for a scholarship that could pay for me to do a Communications Bachelors, but we'll see. Heidi is also doing the scholarship thing and excelling tremendously in Math. I am so proud of her! She has worked so hard, and done so well!

I wish I could post a video for you, Between Lani and I we created a pretty cool presentation for Church last weekend. We compiled a montage of ideas to the Newsboy's "Shine". It did take us awhile, but I found out AFTER the project that we need to have more memory space in order for u to make it happen quicker.

Anyway, if any of you are interested in seeing our creation, email me and I'll send you a copy, and if I can load it on YouTube, I'll post later and tell you where to find it.

For now, enjoy a few fun photos of Wendy and her adventures at the church office.

The Top 10 Things I Loved About Freckles...

1. She was the only cat I'd ever known who could give you a hi-five! (and a bite in the same moment)
2. Tim no longer looks under the bed, underneath the night stand, or even down the stairs for his glasses in the morning. Freckles used to "hide" them in the middle of the night. 3. Trimming her nails, and giving her baths. She loathed these two things, however, the laughs that Tim and I shared whenever she would start to viciously growl and make other loud from the gut noises...oh so worth it. 4. The coveted times she would actually curl up in our lap, or...on Tim's legs. 5. Her curiousity. It never seized to amaze us. Whether it got her stuck in a tree (2x!), up on the roof more times than I want to remember, or just hiding in the corner of our top shelf in the kitchen cupboards above the refrigerator. You never knew where she was going to be, or what she was up to. Never. 6. Her personality. She could be a snob on the flip of a dime, and act as if she's never seen you in her life. Or, she could play it up so good, that you feel bad for leaving her alone, and not rewarding her with a treat of canned food. Yum. Canned food was her favorite. 7. Car rides. She loved to go on car rides, and visit me at work. She loved sleeping in the car with Tim, on the rare occasion he actually "slept" in the car. Long story for another time... 8. I loved that Freckles loved Tim more than me. Seriously, she did! But, I loved it. She was adored by her "master", and she adored him just as much. I loved that she was jealous of me when I moved in after we got married. It was so cute. 9. I loved that she had anyone and everyone she'd ever lived around wrapped around her little paw. Her favorite neighbor, Ivan King, was adored by her. She followed him everywhere, and even convinced him that it was allright to let her sleep inside--in their bed of all places when it was raining outside. The lady down the street called for her everytime she went walking by...and Freckles adoringly came if she was in ears shot. Did I mention she even had the adacity to wake Ivan up every morning (whether in or out) at 5am begging for some food? 10. Her name. I thought up her name, because of her beautiful markings. Tim and I still think it's the coolest cat name. But only for her. The first apartment we lived in, there was an adorable Latino girl (5 years old or so) and she would always call her "Frinkles". *smile*

Have a seat.

Djembe... check
Guitar... check
Microwave... check.
Dishwasher... check
New Stove... check
haul off old stove... check
Chair... um. Chair... well, no.

Of all the things my little Civic wagon has hauled, the chair was the only one by inches to not fit inside. So what do you do with a $10 chair? ....

You put it on the roof rack!

Yes, I found a chair that is EXACTLY LIKE OUR FIRST COUCH and couldn't pass it up. for 10 bucks, I had to find a way.
Here is the fun I had with it!

Coming soon...

Make your vote count! Heidi will update you soon....
