Funny Conversations with an almost 3 year old...

Rain can be so fun in the lovely state of Oregon. Today, Sara and I went for a walk, and she wore her sister's extra large rain coat. Sara will be 3 in July. For those of you who don't remember, I am a nanny to Shireen (4 years old) and Sara, almost 3. Shireen was camera shy, so I have no fun photos to share of her.
Yesterday, Sara and I had an interesting conversation during lunch time. (I was scooping orange flavored yogurt into a bowl for Sara when this convo started...)

Sara: Where does yogurt come from?
Heidi: Well, it comes from cows...it's quite a process...
Sara: Oh, come on silly! Yogurt comes from refrigerators! (laughing hysterically at ME, now!)
Heidi: Oh boy, where did we go wrong?

I then explained all that I knew (as I really don't know the whole process of milk turning into yogurt...), and hopefully, set the record straight.

The never-ending Home Project list continues...

Wow, it feels like forever since I last blogged. SO much has been changing in our world the past 3 weeks. Stay tuned....I think we'll have a better idea of what's happening soon. :)
So, we started and are finishing up some more home projects...Tim and I spent all of Saturday painting, texturizing, and decorating our bathroom. We love the way it turned out! Now, all that's left is replacing the toilet (that we painted for the time being :) ), the flooring, and the bathtub panels. I think we are going to put in small river rocks around the walls surrounding the bathtub...we saw it on HGTV awhile ago, and it was sooo awesome, very natural. The color is hard to tell in the pics, but it's a cross between gray, with green undertones coming out. The black cabinet, shelf, and mirror we painted ourselves (they were garage sale finds) and shabbied.

Our living room on the other hand....I have always dreamed of having a dark red living area. At first sight, I thought Mary Kay had moved into our living room, and smeared her bright red/pink lipstick all over our walls. But, after 3 coats of paint, I think it's STARTING to be the color I had wanted....it's a long way from being done, but it's coming along well. Again, the colors in the pics here are hard to show the true red it really is. Lastly, I ended my math class last week, and did well. I really miss my math class. It was so fun and stimulating! I am still practicing my quad equations, and plan on keeping up my new skills. I also applied, and was hired for a nanny job 2.3 miles from our home, a few weeks ago. It will be replacing my job with the girls, come the end of August. So, I am now watching 2 full days a week, 3 month boy/girl twins named Jack and Jill. (yes, Jack and Jill, you heard right) They are precious. The family is great, and I am loving my new position. God has been blessing us abundantly. I never dreamed I'd find a part time job so close to home, doing what I love! We covet your prayers during this season of our lives! More to come....-H

Triplets!

So, it's about time we blogged our exciting time with the Mckenney triplets. The girls were GREAT. Kudos to Kristi for having them on such a tight schedule--I don't know how manageable (or, unmanageable) it would be otherwise! Joel and Lani visited us on Saturday, and we had a BBQ, and took the triple stroller to the park that evening. It was great fun. Earlier that day, Tim and I were ambitious, and loaded them all up in the stroller and headed to Starbucks for a "relaxing" morning stroll. We had a great time, as we're not accustomed to having so many people point, stare, and comment rather obnoxiously I might add...but, I guess after 8 months of the pointing, staring, and obnoxious comments, it would get old. We soaked it in. (and I secretly wished I had my own set of triplets to show off) All in all, we had a great weekend, and enjoyed getting our cute baby fix. Thanks Josh and Kristi for letting us have the opportunity to watch your little ones!

Tim's *new* love...

These are the first of the Oregon strawberries....we've already started freezing bags and bags of these deliciously sweet things. Yumm!

SOS!

Yes that's right. It's the Season Of Strawberries!

Oregon strawerries cannot be beat! And I am not just saying that because I'm an oregonian, I say that because if you have ever had strawberries from Oregon, you KNOW!

Heidi bought our first flat of strawberries today and I AM EXCITED! We are hoping to get a freezer soon so we can stockpile. Oregon strawberries are only around for about a month or so, So, I am going to get back to work, so I can make more money, so I can have more strawberries! (vicious cycle, I know, but strawberries are worth it!)

More news to catch you up on...Heidi will update you soon with some cute photos!
