AAANNNNND We're off!

Thanks to Chip for watching the kitties and dropping us off at the airport. We are currently sitting among fellow travelers trying to connect online, like everyone else... So, before we take off, we HAD to make a stop for lunch. Thankfully, we could avoid the high airport prices with a short trip on the MAX.

Yup, we got Swedish meatballs, red potatoes, and lingonberry sauce at Heidi's favorite store!

IKEA!

We were hungry and ready for some yummies!

We'll post all the recent changes and a Kansas update when we return!

It's about time!

Okay...so, it's only been a little over a week since we returned from the lovely Discovery Bay, Washington. But still! It should never have taken us this long to have posted about our lovely vacation! So...here it is....a week late.
Our first evening was spent in downtown Seattle. We stayed at The Cambridge Hotel, directly across from the Paramount Theatre, and about 5 blocks from Pike's Place outdoor market. We had a great view of the city, and enjoyed walking the streets of downtown. We were however, glad we were only in Seattle for a night, because what we were really looking for was peace and quiet. Away from the city....for some reason Seattle wasn't quite soothing to our souls. ;) We did have a great time sharing a peace of cheescake from The Cheesecake Factory, and eating veggie spring rolls, potstickers, and other Asian food at The Dragon Fish Cafe for Happy Hour. The next morning we woke up early and went for a run through the streets of Seattle, to Pike's Place. We saw some fish-throwing, and I happened to be lucky enough to watch a homeless lady shoot some heroin in the ladies room. When she started walking toward me with her contaminated needles, I bolted outta there, hissing to Tim to hurry up! She really was of no threat to me, as she was stoned out of her mind anyway. Anyway....so, yeah, that was Seattle.

The best part was driving 3 hours up North to Discovery Bay. We arrived at our quaint condo, to find it to be three stories, waterfront, and completly serene. Man, it was like a night and day difference between Seattle and here. Our first evening we saw a little seal hanging out in the water, a hundred feet or so from our balcony. The rest of the week was wonderfully relaxing. We slept in, stayed up late, re-evaluated our goals (a yearly tradition), made lots of yummy food in the well equipped kitchen, took walks, visited Port Townsend and Port Angeles, thought about taking a ferry across to Victoria, and then gasped at the price, went thrift store shopping, drank way too much coffee,
and enjoyed dinners and sunsets on our deck. Yeah, it was a wonderful time. Now, it's back to the daily grind. Though, in less than two weeks we are outta town again...this time, Kansas! This is Tim's last official week at Multnomah. If you think of him, pray--he's trying so hard to finish well, and finals week is just around the corner. I'm so proud of his hard work. It's been an extremely busy time for him, especially. We spent Saturday wrapping presents for family, making goodies for our friends, finding our perfect Christmas tree, writing our annual Christmas letter, and decorating our home for the holidays. It's so cozy in here; we are just loving it. I'll post pics this week of our Christmas fun. To top it off, we got our first snow on Saturday! Make it a great week!

I heart vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes...it is true. I love vacations!!!!!!!! Especially with my husby!

We're in Discovery Bay, Washington...along the Juan De Fuca straight...we have a three story condo (yes, three stories!!!!) that has two decks that are like 5 feet from the water. It's amazing to wake up in the morning, open the sliding glass door, and see the ripples of the water on the ceiling reflecting into the bedroom. The upper deck where the main living room, dining, and kitchen are overlook the bay too...we saw a seal hanging out earlier this morning, while we were eating breakfast on the deck. Anyway, it's a relaxing place to be with not a lot do. Just our style of vacating!

We'll post pics sometime soon. :)

All Tie-d Up

It has been a long time since I have had the opportunity to blog. In the past month or so, I have worked extra overtime because our Office Manager, Lani got run off the road. Let me explain. She was walking to work and a truck pulled out to turn right. She saw him slowing down and assumed he would stop. so she crossed the innersection. Now, as she started across the street, he took off. She jumped back, he rolled over her foot, saw her and hit the brakes... with her foot still under the tire. OUCH!! needless to say, Poor Lani was out for the next 2 weeks and only in the past 2 weeks has she been able to work full days.

On top of that, I have been gaining extra credit on my Old Testament class by dressing up. As you can see in these next 3 photos, I have some pretty crazy ties. This one is from Goodwill

This one is the ugly one Heidi picked out

And this one is an ugly one I picked out. I wore this one just last Thursday. It has red cats on it. I wore it in honor of Graceful Tompkins. I know she likes animals and the cats are red since Thursday she was undergoing a major heart surgery in Houston TX.
For those who don't know, Graceful is the 1 yr old daughter of our good friends McKenzie and Kristy. Her surgery was successful Thursday and she is recovering as we speak, but it is not just as cut and dry as that sounds. She is still battling MAJOR things before she can come home and probably won't be back until the end of November or early December. If you guys are reading, be encouraged that we think of you and pray for you daily.

In other news, We had Aaron Strumpel come to town and between Ben and I with mostly Matt, we pulled off an awesome night of worship and music. The turnout was pretty good on a 2 week notice and God really blessed us with a successful concert. Hopefully this video will work.

Also, for those who aren't local and haven't met our new Worship Director, I will post a photo of He and I next time. We're almost like brothers.

Fun photos from the Childeren's Harvest party with the kids Heidi nanny's for this is Marissa, Garrett and Garrett's friend along with Heidi and I.

Here is another good picture with friend of mine Braeden. His dad and I meet on a regular basis to talk life and build one another up.

Finally, be praying for both Heidi and I as we travel this next week for Thanksgiving. We usually take a week off for our Anniversary, but this year things were different. So, it has been postponed til Thanksgiving, but we are excited to just take a week to be together. In about a month, we'll take another trip to see Mom and Dad and the family for Christmas! Pray also for us as we are both students again. Heidi has started a great program I'll have her tell you about later, and I am at Multnomah Bible College, but after this first semester working part time and doing school full time plus trying to sleep and stay married, this next semester things will be different. Would you expect any less though? Heidi and I are all about growth and change! I know I will be focusing more attention to the teaching part of my degree now, but what that looks like exactly is still up in the air. Pray that God will by his sovereign hand guide us to be more like him in all things and that I get out of school soon! Check out our prayer from previous posting for a good laugh. It is accurate for most any student nearing Finals week!

Love you all! We'll keep in touch on the blog so stay tuned!

Student's Prayer

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not flunk. He Keepeth me from lying down when I should be studying. He leadeth me to Starbucks for a study break. He restores my faith in commentaries, and leads me to better page-filling methods, for my grade's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of borderline grades, I will not have a nervous breakdown, for Thou art with me. My friends and my iPod, they comfort me. Thou givest me the answers in moments of blankness. Thou anointest my head with understanding, my exam papers runneth over with questions I recognize. Surely passing grades and flying colors shall follow me all the days of my examinations, and I shall not have to dwell at this college forever!"

Amen!

We have had lots of great things that have been happening lately, but as we are both students, this seems most fitting at the moment.

I will add though, our good friends McKenzie and Kristy are in Texas right now preparing for a major heart surgery on their 1 yr old daughter Graceful. If you think of them, she will be in a 7hr sugery 7am (central time) so pray for them.

More of an update later when time allows! along with a ton of photos and a video...

Hey Good Lookin'!

So...Tim and I had the opportunity to have our friend, Josh McKenney shoot some professional pictures of us last Saturday! It was a beautiful day, we had a ton of fun together, and Tim lost his shoes!! (They were stolen off of a bridge...it's a long story)

Please copy these links into your browser and check out our proofs, and give us your two cents about which ones are your favorites. The second link is of Josh McKenney's photography site.

One Year Anniversary!

The girls came over for a visit on Sunday afternoon..."the girls" are Shireen and Sara, the family I used to nanny for. I miss them so much; it was so wonderful to have them visit! We read books, played at the park, ate cookies and played with finger puppets. Also, Tim and I celebrated our one year anniversay in our home, on Halloween night. It was a great night, filled with trick-or-treating with the kids I now nanny for (ages 5 and 9), and our church harvest party. More to come...-H

I got to shake his hand!!!!!

Yep, I got to shake his hand. I also carried a nice 5 minute or so conversation with him. I told him we were on his debt-snowball plan, while we are paying off some student loans. I forgot to tell him that my husband digs through our neighbors garbage every week grabbing out about $7 bucks worth of cans to recycle. That's our date night money; we make about $24-28 per month off this alone. Any guesses yet?

DAVE RAMSEY, the financial guru came to Portland for his Total Money Makeover Live Conference last week. Whoohoo!!!! For those of you who don't know; I listen to this guy religiously, and love to soak in his wisdom about money, life, and God stuff. Tim and I had a great time, and though it was nothing we didn't know already....it was great to get excited about being debt-free, and re-evaluating our priorities. And, of course, being "GAZELLE LIKE" in our efforts! So, if you want a great read, check out "The Total Money Makeover" book-it's a quick and great read.

SO, that leads me to the part of me shaking his hand....Tim and I, and our friends, the McKenney's visited a local church (Good Shepherd) last weekend, where Dave was speaking at their services. He was just hanging out up front of the auditorium, and since we had second row seats (yeah, we got there super early), Tim, Kristi, and Josh suggested we go up and introduce ourseleves. Boy, I'm glad Tim made me. It was so cool to see him in person, and get to share with him. I was so excited, I forgot to tell him about how creative we get with our money. :) Anyway, it was totally the highlight of my weekend. Now, as I listen to him on the radio....I just smile, because, I got to shake his hand.

I Love...

Autumn. Tim snuggling with Snickies. Red and White striped curtains from Ikea. A cozy living room. Trees turning color that greet us out our bedroom window. Cold nights and a warm bed. The sound of cars driving by sloshing water all over the sidewalk.

Our New Love(s)

Well, it's been awhile. It feels like so much has changed, and yet....it's all so familiar at the same time. Tim started school at Multnomah Bible College a few weeks ago. He is loving it; though, the work load is enormous and overwhelming. Tim and I had a great time at the retreat for students and families. I'll post some pics of us on the World's Longest Zip Line soon! God has been challenging our hearts immensely, and growing us individually and maritally. I won't get into the details on this blog, but sometime, it would be fun to catch up with you all on an indvidual basis. Continue to pray for us, as we are still adjusting to Tim's new schedule with work and school. I have a few decisions to make on the horizon as well. so continued prayer for guidance, wisdom, and discernment is much appreciated too. We value you all, friends and family. My new job is going well. My time with the girls came to an end a few weeks ago, though I still see them regularly. I miss them terribly.
So, our new "love(s)" as of late....COFFEE. Jesse and Andrea Culver, dear friends of ours served us a fabulous dinner last weekend, and spoiled us with an incredible cup of coffee. Seriously. We have both worked Starbucks a time or two, and this is no comparison. So, Tim and I are making coffee every AM now...and even drinking a cup at night occasionally! We are going to invest in a French Press I think down the road, as our little coffee pot is only a 4 cup. It's funny, we never were into coffee at all until now...it seems to carry us through our busy days now though. :)
Okay....our other new love....meet, Scraggles. We are now a three cat family again. (I think) This dear, sweet, sickly kitty showed up on our doorstep a week ago, looking awful. It was starving to death, literally, so we quickly fed it, and weren't sure what we were going to do. We don't think it has an owner, though our neighbor has taken it inside before....so, for now, we have adopted her. She's a cutie, but sick. She will be an outdoor only cat, and from what I can tell, she's old, malnourished, has fleas, intestinal parasites and matted hair. Poor thing. I am in the process of getting her some meds. She was sitting in a box we left out for her tonight...so, I put some old blankets in it, in hopes she will stay warm. Tim thought Scraggles was a cute name, since she looks "scraggly", so Scraggles it is. Well, Tim should be home soon, so I'm signing off. More later! -H

4 years....and growing!

Happy Anniversary to us! We've succesfully made it four years now....and have they been an adventure, or what!? Tim and I celebrated at Boccelli's Ristorante in downtown Gresham; our fav restaurant in town. We had a great evening together. There's much more to update you all on, since our weekend at Wild Horse Canyon last weekend, for all Multnomah students and their families. However, it's late, and...well, it's late. :) Here are some fun pics to enjoy. -H

More B's...

Well, I have plenty to catch up on since we last posted. Another Ben, a change to the bedroom, but first I have to start by honoring my beautiful wife on her birthday.

Heidi, you are an amazing woman. Full of surprises and intrigue. You make my like an adventure of the most outrageous kind! I love your wit, your humor and how you "verbally process". I appreciate your support with my schooling and your constant growth attitude. I value your heart, your desires and I want nothing more than to love you forever. I hope you had a memorabe 25th birthday and I pray God will continue to grow and bless us as we love each other more.

Happy Birthday!

I promise I will post some good pics once I get them from Lani (our paparazzi photographer), but for right now, let me tell you about Heidi's Birthday weekend.

To start it all off, Heidi and I welcomed another Heidi and her husband Ben (who just happens to be our new Worship/Young Adults Director at church). We helped move them into their new place and then took them out for Pizza and conversation.

The next adgenda on my scheeming plan for Heidi's birthday weekend, was a surprise dessert at Papa Haydn's. But that's an evening plan. First, a trip to IKEA. You all know how much Heidi loves IKEA, so I had to fit that into the plan. We slept in Saturday and left for IKEA at 11am. As is our custom, we head to the As-Is section first for any good deals. Now at SOME time, we were going to get a closet organizing system. Saturday was not the day we had planned for it, but it was the day indeed! We found the entire closet set-up for $55 when buying it new could have easily cost us well over $300. Needless to say, a great deal.
Now if you have ever been to IKEA before, you know a little about the As-Is section. A lot of the big furniture pieces in the As-Is section are already put together. No exception for our closet set-up. In fact, so much so that it took us 2 trips to take it home! (no surprise to some of you if you have been reading our blog for any length of time, my car once again rose to the occasion). Of course, the set-up was too large to fit inside! So, after getting several thesis statements from older ladies on "how we shoud tie the closet system down" we got it loaded and home. (sorry grannies, but I think I've tied more things to my car than you have!)

After a day at IKEA, Joel called to "invite us to dessert at Papa Haydn's" (I put him up to it ;) I played Heidi the phone message and she got excited, we invited Ben and Heidi over for dinner and took them along for the ride. When we got there, Heidi did not realize that the Tompkins were going to be there either. (We were hoping for the Culvers too, but I forgot Jesse was working) So, surprise! We got dessert and had a wonderful time with some of Heidi and I's closest friends.

It was so cute to see little Graceful both eating her ice cream and "cleaning the table"

Sunday; I got up fairly early to play drums, and we stayed for both services. I was intending to take Heidi downtown to a fun Bistro for lunch, but instead, we stayed after church so long, we ate locally at Burgerville. Little did she know that I had another surpise up my sleeve...
I suggested frisbee in the park or a walk, but Heidi wanted to have Shireen and Sara over to swim. As we were driving to the park close by our house, she called and no one answered. As she looked up while pulling into the Donald Robertson park, she asked "what's going on?"
"What do you mean?" I asked
No response, just a dropped jaw.

In the shelter house, were the girls. Along with the Reitermans, Joel and Lani, both of her employers, her mom, Brad & Rachel and the list went on and on throughout the day! The Sadlers, Culvers, McKenneys, Ivan and Jeannie and their dog Muffy...
We had cake and Ice cream, root beer and fun conversation. It was a total surprise!

On Heidi's actual birthday, I had class, but that afternoon, we installed out closet system and it looks great!

All in all it was a great weekend and we have another great one to look forward to as well. I'll update you with more photos after our weekend retreat! For now, back to homework.

PS Happy Birthday to Karen, Grandma "8", Nathaniel and Joy.

The B's: 2 Bens and plenty of books...

I put you on suspense with my earlier posting, and now I shall reveal the answer to my first question of intrigue.

Benjamin Moore.

Just 2 weekends ago we decided we needed to spray for bugs since there were more spiders on our wall than Heidi wanted (3 in just one week). So with that, we talked about painting. We happened to have a 5 gallon bucket of yelow that Joel and Lani mixed up and decided against. It was the wrong yellow. We didn't want yellow, but also didn't want to spend anymore money. We took it back to Powell Paints and had them mix up whatever they could in a tan as far away from yellow as they could get. We had no idea what we would get, we just knew it would no longer be yellow. (Yes another adventure with Tim and Heidi). We came home with a beautiful stony color that we immediately put on the wall.

Then, just last weekend, (around 9:30PM) we decided (for some unknown reason) that we wanted to double that when we painted the office the same color just a week later! Now we have color on every wall (except the downstairs closet and the laundry room-which we won't worry about)

Before...

After...

Another "B" Bookcases (3 to be exact) that Heidi found on Craigslist and I hauled home in my do-it-all Civic Wagovan!

Keeping on the "B" theme, Books.
I started school again for the LAST time, and have a ton more reading than I have ever done. But then again, I have never tried to work 20 hrs a week, take 16 hrs of class and still expect to have time with Heidi and sleep! Classes thus far are great, but I wil have to work hard, so if you are looking for prayer requests... I will be needing it for school. This is my first term at Multnomah Bible College and so far I am enjoying it. I know God is going to grow me in ways I have never expected, and I know that when I am even done with this semester in December, I will be much stronger than I am now.

Now for the last "B" word. Bed. It's where I'm headed (no pun intended) to now.

I've been tagged!!

I've been tagged by my "blogger buddy", Kristi...here are the rules:

The Rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

1. I pace when I'm on the phone. I seriously can't hold a conversation while sitting down. I've tried, and I am inevitably get up (subconsciously) when the phone starts ringing....I catch myself doing it all the time. So does Tim. :)

2. I love talk radio. My down time in the evenings is usually spent cooking (aka: making a huge mess in the kitchen) and listening to Dave Ramsey until Tim gets home.

3. I've gone bungee jumping, and would love to skydive someday.

4. It takes me 7 minutes, precisely to jump out of bed, throw clothes on, brush teeth/hair, and grab a bowl of cereal and be in the car driving to work. I love how speedy I am! (weekends are another story...:) )

5. I don't like making long term commitments, and enjoy changing my world frequently. I love being spontaneous with Tim.

6. My enthusiasm (God-given!) is often the driving force for change, personal growth, and reaching my personal goals.

7. I love yelling "Happy Friday, Tim-min-nee-nee" to Tim, at the top of my lungs to Tim on Friday's, after work! We love our weekends together. (BTW, I've probably embarrassed Tim by saying his cute nickname I've made for him....he's not so fond of it)

8. I'm a people watcher. Tim catches me staring at people all the time when we're out and about...I honestly don't try to, I just find it fascinating to watch mannerisms, family systems, dynamics, etc. within people and families. I love studying personality types, and trying to figure people out.

I'm tagging Tim, Lani, Angel, Mary, Leah....I don't think I have any other blogger friends that haven't already been included in this post! Have fun!

Ketchup to speed

Well, I said I'd eventually post about out camping trip and all, but as always, things have gotten busy. Not so busy that we haven't had any fun, because we have. I get together with my friend Joe and throw some disc golf and 2 weekends ago, Heidi and I decided we wanted to go camping- just the 2 of us out in the wilderness of Mt Hood.

I got off work at 2 and Heidi went to pickup firewood we traded for a woodworking lamp. We hit Big 5 for an axe and Burger King for chicken sandwiches before we hopped on Hwy 26. After a 20 minute drive, we stopped at the first campsite (that had one opening) and the second (that was full), the 3rd (full) 4th (full) 5th (FULL), 6th? ... (FULL) by then, we were at the mountain and it was 6pm. Not dark yet, but getting closer. We decided to head toward Hood River on the North/East side of Mt Hood. Finally we found Robinhood Campground (yes it sounds funny, and no we did not see men in tights, any merry men or Little John). There were ony 2 sites available and one was extremely dusty and more out in the open. We opted for site #2.

We unpacked, and payed our$10 fee (which by the way is $8 less than the other sites, plus checkout here was 2pm and everywhere else 12 noon). As we were walking back from paying our fee, we noticed a nature sign. "Cool" we thought, "Let's see what we can learn about our area!" As we read along, we found that due to the elevation and the fluctuating temperatures, ice melt from the glaciers near the summit, can cause flash floods. In fact, a few years ago, the enire campsite was exterminated by a flash flood. The time of day when floods are most likely to happen; evening. Luckily we chose the campsite that was furthest from the water.

When we got up, we were FREEZING. Evidently the temperatures really do fluctuate. Just the night earier we were in t-shirts playing catch with our baseball mitts and BBQing burgers, then we awoke to a layer of frost on the car, our camping chairs and the grass. I don't know how cold it got, but I took a walk to the toilet hole and saw that water overnight had risen to at one point 4ft higher than what we saw the day earlier!
Heidi made bacon and pancakes for breakfast and I tried to entertain the birds.

Then I decided we needed adventure. If you have ever seen "Man vs Wild" you will know where we are going, but if not, go to youtube, search for man vs wild and watch an episode of the crazy stuff this guy does to stay alive in the wild.
Needlesstosay, my "adventure" of Man vs Wild was a spoof, but it was a lot of fun creating it.

We are getting ready for school again and I am beginning to see that Teaching is becoming my call. I can't seem to stay away from school and I love having my summer off!

Coming soon...

What on earth did Tim and Heidi do to their bedroom?
plus
What do Maps, cats and a moving truck have to do with worship?

Stay tuned to find out!

A Longview way for a couch!

So you may have read a hint from Heidi on our new living room style. Originally Heidi was planning to paint the living room a deep red, with a sorta creamy yellow accent wall, have 2 nice loveseats surrounding an old country style black coffee table and we were going to build in bookshelves and all would be good. Then IKEA came to town.

So, the day they open, Guess who is there? Of course, my wife Heidi. Wednesday the 25th of July, they opened shop and Heidi was there as soon as she could get there. Friday, of course, she had to take me so we could both go check it out. Saturday? yup, we took Joel and Lani. So, in all of that, Heidi gets a new idea for style (If you have ever been to IKEA, there are PLENTY of styles to choose from, 2 floors of a MASSIVE warehouse to be exact). Now, our living room had a new idea. Sell the coffee table, sell the loveseats, toss the bookshelf idea, let's start over with a new plan!

So, Heidi calls me one afternoon and tell me about this couch she found while "casually looking" (intently scouring) Craigslist. it is a great deal on a great couch and we should consider (get) it.

I say, as I've said before, "Honey, I trust your judgement, and as long as it doesn't cost us more than what we can make by selling a few pieces, I am game." So she shows me photos and I volunteer to pick it up on my day off, the first of the month, I make plans to get a couch. First of all, let me tell you how much I love my wife. So much so that I would be willing to lay down my time to pick up a couch in Washington. Longview, Washington. An hour and a half drive to Longview Washington. Heidi is on a mission. She sells a chair to pay for the couch and sends me out the door to pickup a couch.

Wednesday mornings I meet with Joel, a good friend of mine for accountability and I actually set my alarm for PM not AM so I over slept and missed him. I was also scheduled to pick up a couch in Longview at 7:45am, which is a Long ways away. Mind you this is a 7 ft couch with ottoman. I need a truck. I have hauled a lot of things in my Civic Wagovan, (look back a few months and you'll see my chair that actually didn't fit) So, I ask to borrow our good friend Jeanne's truck. Praise God we picked it up the night before. It was a long drive.

On my way I saw a run-away houseboat floating down the Columbia River, a drug bust on a 50's travel trailer parked alongside the road, I forgot my cell phone, got lost in Longview and followed what I thought was the right road to a gravel pit! By the time I got there (I was supposed to pick this up BEFORE he went to work at 8) It was 9am. He graciously helped me lift it onto the truck and load in pillows. I paid him an extra $5 for my tardyness.

By the time I got home, my borrowed truck was almost out of gas, and I had to stop by Heidi's work to get the only key to her car so I could drop off the truck and bring her car back. Not to mention by the time I got back to the house, I had nobody to help me UNLOAD the couch. Luckily our drunk neighbor was around and was sober enough to help me muscle it in the living room. (he is another story by the way. we had a good conversation about God and I gave him a New Testament Bible. He has read it since then and tells us how he found God, but since he still drinks so much, I am not sure how genuine he is just yet. Keep praying...) Anywho, It is a great couch that we have only sat in once since our living room is in remodel. Soon we will have more photos for you to see and once Heidi gets rid of the loveseats, I'll be setting up the home theatere system so we can do movies again.

Life is an adventure. We can choose to live in these moments or live in the past. I choose Now.

More Adventures to come... like our campouts...

My Husband=Surfer Dude

So, our church Family camp-out at Ft. Stevens State Park in Oregon was fun! In spite the crows waking us up at the crack of dawn... we enjoyed the campfires, long talks, and much needed down time. Tim's good friend, Jesse took him surfing on Saturday for an hour. They had a great time, and though Tim was a little hesitant at first, he came out asking when the three of us could go again! (I used to surf, but am way out of practice....so, maybe one of these days, I'll join in)
So, here's my husband with the surf board....and, notice, NO WET SUIT! He's braver than most! :) Tim and I are heading out again tomorrow afternoon for a night of camping, just the two of us. We'll be somewhere near Mt. Hood I think. All depends on what is open when we get there! Gotta love adventures! Enjoy this weekend! -H
